I cannot lie to you- I am very much in love with my Android phone and my iPod 5. These two devices come with me everywhere I go, connecting me with the world through the internet and email, providing me with entertainment in the form of games and keeping me inspired and healthy through various apps.

There really is an app for just about anything and everything, and health and wellness related apps abound. To help you cut out some of the confusion about which apps to download, I thought I’d share with you my faves.

  • 1. The Get Healthy App

New get healthy App

This is a little bit cheeky, but I can’t blog about free health & wellness phone apps without mentioning my own! My app Get Healthy provides you with daily health tips, information, recipes and other reminders to get you looking and feeling your best over a 90-day period.

When you download the app, you can also get a free health coaching session from me, access to The Wellness Warung Facebook community group, as well as some other freebies that I share once you download. I like to think of the Get Healthy app as your very own health coach in your pocket because I teach you everything I know about how to have a healthy and happy life.

 

  • 2. Omvana

Omvana, by Mindvalley, is a wonderful app for people who want to explore different styles of meditation with a range of different focusses such as relaxation, guided meditation and sleep. The app allows you to make mixes so you can blend ambient music tracks with guided voices if you wish. The tracks which are offered come in a variety of lengths and purposes. There is very little excuse for not having a regular meditation practice with this app!

 

  • 3. 7 Minute Workout

7 Minute Workout is a fitness app (available on Google Play and iTunes) that takes you through a 7 minute workout that you can literally do anywhere. The app will talk you through 12 high intensity body weight exercises, giving you 30 seconds per exercise with 10 seconds rest between each one (although you can adjust this). You can also log your workouts and set reminders to do your daily circuit, With this app you can never have an excuse again for not moving your body each day.

 

  • 4. My Food Jotter

I always recommend to clients to complete a food diary when they start working with me. I have a writable PDF that I give out, but for some people being able to log this information in their phone is much easier and doable. My Food Jotter is the app I recommend my clients to use for logging foods, mood, sleep and exercise because it is quick and easy to use.

 

  • 5. FMC

FMC

This acronym stands for Female Monthly Calendar which is exactly what this app is. FMC offers a way to track your menstrual cycle in a calendar,track and record when you get your period, note your menstrual flow, menstrual cycle length and symptoms, as well as record info about intimacy, and how you feel in terms of weight and moods on any given day. It is a great app to use for when you want to predict your most fertile times of the month so you can plan appropriately. I’ve been using this app for years and it has really helped me to take charge of my own reproductive health.

 

  • 6. Gratitude Diary

Practicing the act of gratitude should be a daily practice to help you to feel abundant and to manifest more of the good stuff into your life. This Gratitude Diary app is super simple which is why I like it. It makes for recording your daily gratitude lists and keeping them as you would in a paper journal easy to do every day.

 

  • 7. Dirty Dozen

The Dirty Dozen app (on Google Play and iTunes) has been created but the Environmental Working Group, the organisation which educates people about the risks of pesticide exposure and the ways to reduce pesticides in their diets. This app lists the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables and the Clean 15, a list of the least contaminated produce. This app is handy to quickly and easily refer to when you go shopping
