Since I announced my free coaching class “The Most Powerful Ways You Can Feel More Alive and Energised So You Can Live With Vitality Everyday”, I have had a few people ask me whether it is true that it is possible to increase energy levels through nutrition alone.
My honest answer is, no.
I am going to discuss this during the free class, but I also want to touch on it with you here. There is actually another biggie, in addition to the food you eat, that can have a profound effect on your overall energy levels. The other key to feeling alive and enegised is to work on your internal nourishment and self-care.
Increasing self-care really is one of the best ways to improve your energy level. When you do things that you are passionate about, it fuels your soul. When you allow yourself to take a break and relax, you feel refreshed and have all the energy to take on the world.
Think about the last time you were working on something you loved and which brought you joy. Did the time fly by really fast? Did you have the energy to keep going until it was finished? Did you want to go on and do more?
The trick is to find a passion project or even just some little things that make you happy and bring you joy when you do them.
Here are some ideas of things that you can do to nourish your soul:
1. Get some clean, fresh air
2. Do some enjoyable exercise or fun movement
3. Call a good friend and have a deep and meaningful talk
5. Rest and relax with a good fiction book
6. Gift yourself some meditation time
You may have noticed that these items all centre around the Primary Foods, the important core elements of our life that we need to keep in check and balance to ensure we feel fulfilled and satisfied. When working with my clients, finding ways to ensure that Exercise, Career, Spirituality and Meaningful Relationship are being tended to forms the core of our sessions together.
This list is just a small portion of the huge sea of nourishing activities that you can do to fuel your spark. I encourage you to do a brainstorm and create a “nourishment menu” for yourself of things you really enjoy doing. When you feel like you need a boost, take the list out and do one of the things that fuels your soul.
